Great, local Hill Country family business. These guys have been around Gillespie County for a long time and they know what they are doing. They price things out fairly, they get the work done with excellence, and they go above and beyond on customer service. When we had an irrigation issue after a septic install, Paul made sure to come back multiple times to make it right even though it cost him lots of extra time.

I have know Paul and Vicky Hartcraft since the 1990’s, back when Paul III was running the equipment and Vicky was in the ditch putting in septics. Truly the beginnings of their successful Mom and Pop business. The business has grown since those days and that is because they are fair and do what they say they will do. Paul IV is very active with his father in the On-Site Sewage Facilities , Maintenance of the OSSF, and Pumping of Septics and Grease Tanks, plus other aspects of their topsoil and road building business. Calling Hartcraft Septic was absolutely the best decision ever! We had some issues but had no idea where the pipes were for plumbing. I was super nervous at first that Paul would had given up after digging and looking around for the pipes but to my surprise, he never quit, called for backup, and got our plumbing working back to normal again! And the price was absolutely amazing too! Normally, people want to take advantage and charge outrageous, but I was super happy to see the bill! I can't rave enough about the work ethic, professionalism, determination, and pricing! Thank you so much

I’ve used Hartcraft Septic on several jobs as well as my personal house. They do an amazing job and I will continue to use them as my septic installer.
We moved to Fredericksburg, TX from another state in 2015. Paul Hartcraft was recommended to me by my home builder, who is from nearby Stonewall. We have three buildings that need sewage service. Paul Hartcraft came to where we were building and gave me a verbal estimated. I asked him to schedule the install. Paul came out with his equipment, dug the holes for the multiple tanks, dug the trenches and installed everything. He completed the job and I asked him what I owed him. He responded, "What did I tell you? I said "$XXX." He said "that's what you owe me." I was a bit surprised that the response wasn't something like "Well, the trenching wasn't what I expected." Or "These materials increased in price." Etc. His son, Paul IV, is now doing some of the heavy lifting in the business. He is very proactive in continuing the same level of inspections as his father. Paul IV has also started a septic cleaning service, which pleases me as I have not been very satisfied with the three contractors I've tried. Obviously, I highly recommend Hartcraft Septic
We had an aerobic system pump fail and Paul helped get us back up and running in a few hours. He is very knowledgeable and was very professional. He made sure everything was in perfect working condition before he put his stamp of approval on it. We also had great conversation with him along with teaching me the basics of how my system worked. Very Blessed to have someone like him in our community. Would highly recommend this company!!

Paul Hartcraft comes from a multi-generation business, and it truly shows. He is extremely knowledgeable, fair with pricing, and consistently makes himself available. They came through for us in a clutch situation over Thanksgiving when we had an urgent issue and helped get it resolved quickly. The stakes were especially high because this was a 12-bedroom short-term rental with over 30 guests relying on uninterrupted service. Their professionalism and responsiveness made all the difference, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Paul was extremely accommodating for us. I happened to see his truck at a neighbors home and gave him a call. I asked about setting an appointment for him to check our system. Explaining we had been in the home for nearly six years he opted to stop prior to leaving the neighborhood. Paul pull the caps and told me we were way overdo, (60% of capacity) He immediately gave me the option to pump the tanks right then and there. Of course I took him up on that option. Knowing nothing about how this was supposed to be checked and properly maintained he took his time to show me our present condition and explain to me what to do in the future. Paul already has us on a reminder list in the future. The tanks are out of site and out of mind so that is helpful! I won’t gross you out with the before pictures but here are the after ones. I will definitely only use Paul in the future and will refer him to anyone I know or who asks. Thanks Paul!

Hartcraft installed the entire septic system when we remodeled in 2005. The system has been trouble free ever since. The system was pumped and inspected when we moved and it passed without any additional care. It doesn't get any better than that.

We continue to have only good service and experiences with Hartcraft Septic Systems. I guess we are about 4 1/2 years in now since we moved into our home and began using the septic system and dealing with Paul and his son, Paul. I think it’s Paul III and Paul IV, but don’t hold me to that. If I call and don’t get them on the first call they call me back. If I have a problem we get it resolved quick. Paul and Paul know what the issue is before I finish talking. If it’s something I can fix; I fix it. If not, Paul and or his team are on site quick…I’d say no more than a day later. I view this as great service. Especially in today’s world of emails, texts, and hard to talk to folks at any number of companies we deal with. Hartcraft Septic know their business well and they execute the job well. Every time. -BP

I called Hartcraft Septic Systems to investigate a pump alarm warning. Although late in the day, Paul said that he would come by and check it out. Not only did he arrive promptly, but he diagnosed a failed pump and was able to replace it with parts on hand. Perhaps more importantly, Paul exhibits a great deal of enthusiasm and interest in providing quality work, with an eye towards building a strong business for the future. Nicely done.
